When a jeweler needs one particular stone for one particular client, the search still runs on group chats, phone calls and memory. Somewhere a dealer or a cutter is holding exactly that stone, and neither of them knows the other is looking. The Gemstone Market is his answer, a quieter and more honest way for those two people to find each other.

He came to it with an unusual pair of skills. He spent five years designing and building mobile apps, and he has spent years in the gem trade itself. Through The Rough Life he buys rough straight from miners and small traders. At Bee Creek Bespoke he cuts that rough into finished gemstones, some to sell and some for the custom jewelry he makes with his team at Westlake Goldsmiths. He has bought the stone, cut it, seen it set, and answered the call from the jeweler who needed it.
